Google, Meta and YouTube ads budget planner
Split one monthly budget across Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and YouTube, and compare the enquiries and cost per enquiry each platform could bring. The defaults are examples, so replace them with numbers from your own ad accounts. The planner is free, needs no sign-up, and your numbers stay on your device.
How it works
The budget is split by your shares; if they do not add to 100, they are scaled to fit. Google: clicks = spend ÷ cost per click, and enquiries = clicks × enquiry rate. Meta: views = spend ÷ cost per 1,000 views × 1,000, clicks = views × click rate, enquiries = clicks × enquiry rate. YouTube: views = spend ÷ cost per view, then clicks and enquiries the same way.
Total sales = all enquiries × closing rate, and sales value = sales × average sale value. Return on ad spend = sales value ÷ budget. Cost per enquiry for each platform = its spend ÷ its enquiries, and the platform with the lowest is marked cheapest. Real costs vary by country, season and ad quality, so test small before moving more money.
How to use it
- Enter your monthly budget and the share for Google, Meta and YouTube.
- Add each platform's cost, click rate and enquiry rate from your ad accounts.
- Enter the share of enquiries that buy and your average sale value.
Questions
How should I split my budget between Google and Meta?
Google tends to reach people already searching, while Meta and YouTube help create demand. Many businesses use some of each. Start with a split, run small tests for two weeks, then move money to the platform with the lowest real cost per enquiry.
Where do I find CPC, CPM and CPV?
In Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager and YouTube campaign reports. CPC is cost per click, CPM is cost per 1,000 views and CPV is cost per view. If you have not run ads, test with a small budget first.
Are the default numbers real benchmarks?
No. They are examples so the planner shows a result. Costs and rates differ widely by country, industry and ad quality. Replace them with your own numbers for a useful plan.
Is this planner free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and runs in your browser. Your numbers stay on your device unless you choose to copy the result, share it on WhatsApp, save a PDF or send it to us.
