YouTube earnings calculator for creators
Estimate your monthly and yearly income as a creator from long videos, Shorts, sponsorships and affiliate links. Use your own RPM from YouTube Studio for the most useful result, since it varies widely. The calculator is free, needs no sign-up, and your numbers stay on your device unless you choose to send them.
How it works
RPM is revenue per 1,000 views, after the platform's share, as shown in YouTube Studio. Long-video income = long-video views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. Shorts income = Shorts views ÷ 1,000 × Shorts RPM. Shorts usually earn a much lower RPM than long videos, so the calculator asks for it separately instead of using one rate for both.
Sponsorship income = sponsorships a month × fee per sponsorship. Affiliate income = affiliate sales a month × commission per sale. Monthly income is the total of all four sources, and yearly income = monthly income × 12. RPM changes by country, topic, audience and season, so treat these as estimates, not promises.
How to use it
- Enter monthly long-video views and your RPM, then Shorts views and Shorts RPM.
- Add sponsorships per month and your fee per sponsorship.
- Add affiliate sales per month and commission per sale.
Questions
How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views?
It varies widely by country, topic, season and audience. Your RPM in YouTube Studio shows what you actually earn per 1,000 views. Use that figure in the calculator rather than a general average.
What is the difference between RPM and CPM?
CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad views. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 total views after YouTube's share, and it counts all views, including ones without ads. RPM is the better number for estimating income.
Do Shorts earn as much as long videos?
Usually not per view. Many creators use Shorts to bring new viewers to long videos, sponsorships and affiliate links. Enter both kinds of views in the calculator to see how much each part adds.
Is this calculator free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and runs in your browser. Your numbers stay on your device unless you choose to copy the result, share it on WhatsApp, save a PDF or send it to us.
